New research by Shell has found that 76% of drivers are not selecting a fuel economy fuel and are missing out on a range of other techniques for reducing the amount of fuel they use on the roads.

In response to these findings, Shell has launched Target One Million, a Shell FuelSave campaign designed to help one million drivers around the world learn how to save fuel and, in doing so, reduce their fuel costs.

Shell understands that fleet drivers and managers alike are looking for ways to cut fuel consumption and save on their fuel costs, and Target One Million is Shell’s latest initiative to help them address this challenge.

As part of its Target One Million campaign, Shell will release a series of interactive, online mini-games to help equip fleet drivers with the skills they need to become more fuel efficient.

The mini-games are fun and quick to complete, and the first one – Shell FuelSave Challenge – is available to play now at www.shell.co.uk/target1million.

The research, titled the Shell FuelSave Index, also found that 55% of drivers are not driving smoothly and only 53% drivers use the top gears frequently.

By changing these habits and following some other simple motoring tips, as well as choosing the right fuel, fleet drivers could reduce their fuel consumption.

Quentin Willson has joined forces with Shell to launch Target One Million. He said: “I'm proud to be helping fleet drivers and managers save fuel and reduce their company's fuel costs.

"The Target One Million mini-games are a fun way to learn, without putting in too much time. Saving fuel doesn’t have to be a hassle; it’s easy.”
