Trimble has announced that it has formed a new division within its mobile solutions section to consolidate and focus its efforts on delivering end-to-end field service management solutions for markets such as communications, oil and gas, and industrial equipment.

Trimble’s field service management division aims to provide visibility into field and fleet operations so businesses can streamline efficiency and increase productivity.

The field service management suite includes fleet management, work management and scheduling, worker safety and mobility solutions that aim to transform the effectiveness of work, workers and assets in the field.

The division will focus on further strengthening its field service management portfolio by developing solutions that assist large field-based workforces to drive efficiency throughout all phases of the field service workflow, from planning to execution and analysis of the work, field worker and field assets.

The team will be led by Mark Forrest, who prior to joining the field service management division served as general manager and chief operating officer for the Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT) joint venture.

He said: “The field services industry is rapidly changing. The market today requires comprehensive technologies and processes as businesses are looking to improve and increase tailored service delivery.

“The new Field Service Management Division offers solutions that provide efficiencies and improve performance, as well as help mitigate field service issues such as rework or failed appointments; it will also be able to tailor solutions to meet the needs of each market sector we address.”
