Europcar has appointed Justin Shaw as its new fleet director. With a 25-year career in the car hire industry, Shaw will charged with driving forward plans to enhance Europcar’s fleet to meet the changing needs of both business and leisure customers.
“My goal is to continue to ensure that Europcar has the vehicles our customers need, at the right place and the right time,” explained Shaw.
“The challenge is balancing customer demand and cost expectations in the current volatile economic environment, but with the very strong relationships we have with many manufacturers we feel confident of being able to operate a market-leading fleet that offers choice and flexibility to meet the varied needs of our customers.
“It is also exciting to be able to look at the new generation of vehicles coming onto the roads, such as electric, and plan for their inclusion in our fleet.”
Shaw joined Europcar in 2002, before becoming fleet operations director in 2011. Prior to this, he held several key roles with major rental organisations, including operations director for Budget UK and operations development manager at Europcar from 1994 to 1998.
Ken McCall, managing director, Europcar Group UK, said: “Justin has forged a successful career at Europcar, giving him an in-depth insight into the business and its overall direction.
“His leadership skills, combined with a hands-on, practical approach make Justin ideally suited to lead the fleet team now.
“This appointment forms a key part of Europcar UK’s business strategy, as we continue to deliver the best in customer service.”
