Lex Autolease, has began delivering several Vauxhall Amperas to SSE. The new electric vehicles (EVs) represent the first fleet of Amperas to be delivered to any UK Fleet.
The EVs will join the firm’s 7,500+ strong fleet and be based at various locations across the UK. Although most will be used as pool vehicles between the company’s UK sites, senior executives are now adopting the Ampera as their ‘full time’ company car.
Ian Marchant, chief executive at SSE, said: “We fully recognise our responsibilities in relation to sustainability, so to receive the first UK fleet Ampera is a real coup – so much so, our Head of Group Transport asked to go at the front of the queue to get one!
“Following the success of the recent rollout of EV power points across our UK locations, the addition of the Ampera to our UK fleet is a further demonstration of our commitment not only to this technology, but to environmental sustainability.”
Mike Lauriello , senior corporate relationship manager at Lex Autolease says: “Interest in the Ampera is high, given that until now it wasn’t available to UK fleets. We’re thrilled to be able to use our close relationship with Vauxhall to deliver the first UK fleet Ampera to SSE, one of our biggest customers.”
These vehicles will be leased on a contract-hire basis from Lex Autolease.
