Tusker has appointed well-known fleet industry figure and former Alphabet employee Mark Sinclair to the board as its first chief operating officer.
Reporting to chief executive David Hosking, Sinclair, joins the company after 12 years with the multi-marque leasing company Alphabet, which is owned by BMW Group.
Sinclair was formerly director of Alphabet GB, a position he held from October 2007 to early 2011, and for the last 15 months was director of international operations at Alphabet International, which has a global fleet of 480,000 vehicles, based in Munich.
“I’m joining Tusker at a very exciting stage in its development and at a time when I can add real value to the business as it moves forward, said Sinclair.
“Tusker is currently small but growing rapidly and is in a really interesting and rapidly developing market segment.
“I’m a strong believer in salary sacrifice as a product that is opening up and growing in the UK. Tusker is very well positioned in the market to leverage that and to capitalise on the growth opportunities available,” added Sinclair, a chartered accountant who began his career with KPMG.
Tusker is a major provider of salary sacrifice cars with more than 85 live schemes in both private and public sectors, including National Grid, Telegraph Media Group, Northumbrian Water,Airbus, Bombardier, , NYSE Euronext, Aston University, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, North Yorkshire County Council and Northumberland County Council.
“Based on the current order take, the expectation at Tusker is that we will triple the size of the portfolio over the next three years,” said Sinclair.
“I am very confident that Tusker can go on to develop into a strong, solid mid-tier sized player in the fleet market and the leading specialist in salary sacrifice.”
Hosking, said: “Mark brings a wealth of premier division experience to Tusker at a time when we are making great strides towards our ambitious growth plans, and we are delighted to welcome him to the business.
“We confidently expect Mark to help further refine and develop our operations to ensure that we continue to provide the first class customer experience and innovative products and solutions for which we have become so well known for.”
