ATS Euromaster’s technical services team has designed new courses for technicians which have been fully accredited by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).

The courses cover everything from car and van tyre fitment to air conditioning servicing, vehicle diagnostics, battery fitment, wheel alignment, scheduled maintenance servicing, brakes, steering, suspension and exhausts.

Stan Rudowski, group head of health, safety and technical services at ATS Euromaster, said: “The IMI courses allow our training to be 100 per cent focused around our direct needs. We’ve structured them to reflect the increasing emphasis on SMR, in addition to tyres and fast-fit.”

ATS Euromaster has supported the introduction of the IMI courses with the purchase of modern Volkswagen ‘test’ cars, in addition to existing vehicles based at each of the company’s six primary training centres.

These permanent test cars allow technicians to refine their skills on modern vehicles featuring the latest specification brake and steering assemblies on the market.

The IMI training course is delivered by ATS Euromaster’s eight resident technical training team members, who are collectively responsible for overseeing training for ATS Euromaster’s 2,000-strong team of professional technicians.

The IMI accredited courses are already popular with franchised dealer groups and now form part of 20 specialist courses for ATS Euromaster technicians, which collectively cover all aspects of the company’s work in the car, van, truck, industrial, construction and agricultural sectors.

ATS Euromaster expects to train over 1,500 technicians a year in these courses and other technical related subjects.
