Social housing provider Home Group has selected the salary sacrifice car scheme, SS4C, from Tusker for all 3,350 of its UK staff following a tender exercise.
Tyneside based Home Group, which has an annual turnover of £313 million, manages 55,000 homes and provides support and services to more than 120,000 people across the UK.
The company wanted to increase the number of benefits already available to its staff via salary sacrifice, which includes childcare vouchers and a cycle-to-work scheme, within its My Benefits employee offering.
Following a procurement exercise involving several salary sacrifice providers in the fleet market, two suppliers were shortlisted and Tusker selected from the final two.
Kelly Mitchell, Home Group’s HR business partner – policy and reward, said: "The Tusker scheme provides an excellent, professional website that is very easy to use.
"The all-round customer service and experience for colleagues also stood out, with cars being collected from any location for servicing and then delivered back again to wherever colleagues want them.
"We have already had quite a bit of interest from colleagues wanting to join the scheme and we hope it will be a successful addition to our benefits package."
Home Group is currently in the process of phasing out the use of company cars in favour of cash allowances. Some employees are now expected to use their cash allowances to select new cars through the salary sacrifice car scheme.
The group has also set a carbon cap of 155g/km for cars that can be selected through SS4C to reduce the company’s carbon footprint, in line with its environmental objectives, but still provide employees with a wide and diverse selection of vehicles.
To communicate the scheme to employees who are located throughout the UK, Home Group has organised, in conjunction with Tusker personnel, a series of five roadshows, the first of which was held at the head office in Newcastle, followed by Whitehaven, Leeds, Birmingham and Eastcote, Middlesex.
Details were also provided to employees via the company’s quarterly magazine, @Home, the company intranet and weekly email bulletins.
Alison Argall, business development director at Tusker, added: "We are delighted to welcome Home Group to the growing number of organisations that are using SS4C to widen choice for their employees. Although it is early days yet, the scheme is already proving popular with Home Group employees and we are receiving a steady stream of new car orders."
Tusker currentlyhas more than 90 live salary sacrifice car schemes in operation in both public and private sectors.
