Mazda's new-generation flagship Mazda6 is to go on sale in the UK in Saloon and Tourer versions in January next year following it's unveiling at the Paris Motor Show today September.

Prices will start at £19,595 OTR for the 2.0-litre 145ps Saloon SE, rising to £24,865 for the 2.0-litre 165ps Tourer Sport Nav. Diesel variants start at £21,795 for the 2.2-litre 150ps Saloon SE through to £28,045 for the 2.2-litre 175ps Tourer Sport Auto Nav.

The all-new Mazda6 - now in its third generation - is the first mass-production Mazda model to be equipped with i-ELOOP, the Japanese company's unique brake energy regeneration system. It's the most recent ingredient to Mazda's building block strategy for uncompromisingly efficient and fun-to-drive vehicles.

Target data suggests fuel economy as high as 68.9mpg and emissions as low as 108g/km.

Mazda's range of high-efficiency SkyActiv powertrains includes two petrol engines and two diesels paired to six-speed automatic or manual transmissions.

SkyActiv -G petrol engines include the 2.0-litre 145ps and the 2.0-litre 165ps both producing 210Nm at 4,000rpm.

SkyActiv -D diesel engines include the 2.2-litre 150ps producing 380Nm at 2,000rpm and the 2.2-litre 175ps producing 420Nm at 2,000rpm.
