Volvo Car Corporation appoints Duncan Forrester as Vice President, Product and Brand Communications.
Further to the earlier announcement about Duncan Forrester's move to the role of director of global social media in Sweden, the arrival of the new senior vice president of public affairs, Bodil Eriksson has facilitated a review of the global public affairs organisation. Part of this review sees Duncan Forrester appointed to the newly-created role of vice president, product and brand communications in public affairs for Volvo Car Corporation, Sweden.
This new role brings together the previous functions of product and core value communications, global social media and digital lifestyle communications and cars and technical support under one core product-focussed team. The enlarged product and brand communications team will now assume responsibility for all aspects of the strategy and execution of product and brand communications to global media audiences as well as press days of international Motorshows, international press launch activity and all global product-focussed media events through traditional and social media channels.
Commenting on his appointment Forrester said: "Volvo Car Corporation is in a period of rapid transformation, much of which is led by exciting new products and innovative technology. Our ability to cut through the crowded media landscape is going to be key to the success of these cars and I am sure that the experience I have gained in the UK - arguably one of the most demanding media markets in the world - will form a great basis for the delivery of some great new cars to the media in the coming months and years."
