The Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP) has revealed the shortlist for the LowCVP Champions Awards.

The awards celebrate outstanding and innovative practice in accelerating the shift to lower carbon vehicles and fuels and reducing road transport emissions, with winner announced at a ceremony in London on Tuesday, January 29.

The awards ceremony follows a reception (at the same venue) to celebrate the LowCVP’s tenth anniversary.

The awards are an initiative of the LowCVP, a public-private partnership that exists to accelerate a sustainable shift to lower carbon vehicles and fuels and create opportunities for UK businesses.

Nearly 200 organisations are engaged from diverse backgrounds including Government, automotive and fuel supply chains, vehicle users, academics, environment groups and wider society.

The LowCVP Awards and Anniversary Reception are being held with the support of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).

The LowCVP Champions Awards were established in 2010.  The 2012 Awards will be presented following a reception celebrating the LowCVP's 10th Anniversary to be addressed by transport minister Norman Baker.
