Global workspace provider Regus has announced the opening of a second ‘Regus Express’ hotdesk and meeting centre on the M25.

The business centre opens at Roadchef’s Clacket Lane motorway services in Kent, offering co-working space, ThinkPods (private workstations), meeting rooms and business support such as printing.

With an ever-increasing proportion of the UK’s workforce now classed as ‘mobile’, demand is rising for flexible workspace and business services at more convenient locations such as transport and retail hubs.

Phil Kemp, global managing director of Regus Third Place said: “We are excited to open our latest centre at Clacket Lane, especially because Kent and Surrey are such key areas for business in the South East. We already have a strong network of locations in the area but this gives another option to Businessworld members who drive to London on business or who live and work locally.

Over the last year, Regus Express at Cobham services – which is operated by Extra Motorway Service Area Group – has become a popular co-working and meeting venue with a variety of business people, including Chairman elect of the Liberal Democrats in the South East of England and Guildford resident Paul Hienkens, who regularly has to travel across the region for work.

He said: “The area I’ll be covering is vast, extending across 44 constituencies and encompassing Kent, Surrey and Sussex which means I’ll have to spend a lot of time on the M25.

“I already use the business lounge at the Regus Express centre in Cobham services 4 or 5 times a month to catch up with work whilst on the move.  It’s incredibly useful to have access to drop-in workspace like this at service stations – not only because you have everything you need, like food and petrol, in one space, but also because the locations are generally so convenient.

“The new Regus centre at Clacket Lane services is another example of this and I can certainly envisage using it.”

He added: “I can be much more productive in a business centre than I could in a coffee shop for example. The atmosphere is professional, free of distractions and there’s also the added bonus that you get the opportunity to network with other professionals.”
