BCA’s French-based operation and its Remarketing subsidiary is reporting a record year in 2012 with substantial volume growth expected to continue with the opening of a new online remarketing centre in Nantes in 2013.
BCA sold over 51,000 vehicles in 2012, the sixth consecutive year of volume expansion. The last three years have experienced double-digit volume growth.
Paul Bradbury, managing director, BCA Europe commented “BCA in France is reaping the rewards of a long term business plan that has seen a significant transition from a regional physical auction model to serving a larger Europe-wide professional buyer audience through a sophisticated online auction programme.”
Since the business plan was initiated in 2007, BCA in France has seen a threefold increase in its sales volumes, with internet sales accounting for 88% of vehicles sold by the company – either via Live Online sales or direct online transactions.
Jean - Roch Piat, director general of BCA’s French operation expects to see further growth in 2013 with the opening a new centre in Nantes that will sell vehicles exclusively via the internet, while the company continues to build physical and online volume at the existing centres in Paris, Lyon and Nîmes.
He said “BCA will continue to develop our remarketing offering for our customers – both buyers and sellers – to optimise efficiencies, reduce costs and improve value. The wholesale used car market is changing in Europe and we are meeting that challenge by taking the best practice from established internet retailers - such as lean regional bases and focusing on customer service - and blending it with our own expertise in vehicle remarketing and pricing.”
