Paragon has announced new interfaces for its Fleet Controller option that enables linking of routing and scheduling software to vehicle tracking systems.
The addition of Teletrac, Comet Tracker and Xata in the USA, Infosat in Poland and Traffilog in the UK brings the total number of interfaces to 28 worldwide.
This new development extends the opportunity for Paragon routing and scheduling software users to link to their GPS vehicle tracking systems to use real-time data for comparing their transport plans with actual vehicle movements.
Fleet Controller integrates with Paragon's routing, scheduling and transport optimisation systems, analysing vehicle location and status information using real-time satellite tracking and mobile communications.
With this highly accurate information, transport planners are able to analyse the true delivery performance against key performance indicators, enabling them to improve operational management, customer service and driver activity.
The software also allows real-time reporting and mobile messaging across its range of routing and scheduling solutions.
It gives a live view of the fleet's performance against planned routes and provides customers with delivery updates using text messages.
With Paragon Fleet Controller text-messaging, customers no longer need to stand by for their delivery as the system notifies them that the truck is on its way with an accurate ETA.
If the delivery vehicle is running late, transport managers can also inform the customer of the delay, which also helps ensure good customer relations.
Fleet Controller can also be used in standalone mode with Paragon RMS (Route Management System) for simplifying transport management and improving customer service in fixed route operations.
"We have more than 50 customers using Fleet Controller across a range of industries and in different countries,” said William Salter, managing director of Paragon Software Systems.
“They are testimony to the flexibility of the solution and the advancements in vehicle tracking technology, which enables a seamless integration between real-time data and our routing and scheduling software to provide further optimisation enhancements, drive down costs and emissions, and improve customer service."
