Vehicle CCTV manufacturer, Vue CCTV, has appointed Mel Mizen as business development manager.
Mizen joins Vue from Aviva where he has been motor fleet risk engineer for the past seven years. His new role at Vue will involve developing its client base of insurance companies and fleet owners nationwide.
With a career which spans over 30 years in the motor industry, he started as a motor vehicle technician, quickly moving up the ranks to become a group transport manager with responsibility for fleets of more than 500 vehicles.
Mizen’s appointment reinforces Vue’s position in the insurance and fleet risk management market. Vue already works with some of the world’s largest insurance, logistics and passenger transport companies, including RSA, Ceva Logistics, Cemex, and Addison Lee and all of the UK’s emergency services.
Mizen said, “In my role at Aviva I was advising clients, brokers and underwriters on motor fleet risk management, fleet management, telematics and client risk evaluation methods and often recommended Vue’s in-vehicle digital recording technology.
“The technology and service Vue provides is outstanding, I’ve seen it in action for many fleet owners, helping them reduce fraudulent insurance claims, increase fleet efficiency and improve safety. It’s exciting to be a part of helping this business grow and develop.”
Glen Mullins, managing director of Vue, said: “As a business we’re undergoing fast growth, doubling our turnover over the past two years and Mel is going to help this increase further. His experience and knowledge of the motor insurance industry and fleet risk management is ideal to identify the needs of customers and develop a bespoke solution for them.”
Mel’s appointment adds to Vue’s recent team growth, bolstering its sales team with the appointment of Michelle Murphy as sales administrator in March. Michelle has been tasked with supporting the growing national sales team and brings a wealth of corporate, blue chip experience to ensure clients continue to enjoy the highest levels of customer service.
Vue designs and manufactures CCTV and accident recording systems for commercial vehicle fleets across the UK and Europe. Its systems help reduce accident claims and fleet risk and assist with driving behaviour training.
Based in Trafford Park, Manchester, Vue has a turnover of £3 million and was awarded the Highly Commended Fleet Safety Product award at the BRAKE Fleet Safety Awards in 2013.
