Andrew Baker has been appointed as software support developer this week by fleet software specialist Chevin.

He has almost a quarter of a century of experience in the IT sector, much of it involving transport solutions. Most recently, he has designed and coded a database system that facilitates the daily operations of a van sales fleet.

The software support developer role is centred around Chevin’s FleetWave web-based enterprise fleet solution that is used to manage 700,000 fleet vehicles around the world with customers including St Gobain Transport, Bristol City Council, Honda Motor Europe and Marie Stopes International.

Baker said: “I’m looking forward to working at Chevin. The company has an excellent reputation both in the IT and fleet industries for the quality of its products.”

Managing director Ashley Sowerby said: “As a company, we are continuing to expand and make new appointments, and are very pleased to welcome Andrew to our team.”
