A sale at BCA Edinburgh this month set a new sales day record, selling 282 cars for a multi-million pound turnover to achieve the best result since BCA Edinburgh opened in the 1980s.
Up to 300 cars are offered every week from a variety of Blue Chip sources including Lex Autolease, Black Horse, Police Scotland, Arval, ALD Automotive and VWFS with the majority of cars offered under the BCA Assured scheme.
A large crowd of buyers attended BCA Edinburgh on the day, with nearly 500 buyers also participating via Live Online – the largest number ever recorded for a sale in Scotland. Over 84% on the entry was sold on the day, with online bidders accounting well over a quarter of all cars sold.
Stuart Beith BCA’s General Manager, Scotland commented “Our Fleet & Lease sale has gone from strength to strength in recent months and we are getting great support from Scottish motor dealers for the sales programme. Buyers know they will be presented with a fantastic selection of one owner, high-demand cars in good colours and with great specifications, including prestige and executive saloons and 4x4s, MPVs and family cars and economical hatchbacks and superminis. Demand for direct-entered ex-fleet stock is exceptionally high and BCA saw average values for fleet and lease cars reach record levels at over £9,200 in January.“
Beith added: “Sales have been very strong across the board in Scotland this year, with both BCA Edinburgh and Glasgow attracting large crowds of buyers and plenty of competitive bidding. With the ongoing shortage of good retail quality used vehicles, we are expecting a strong first quarter at BCA.”
