Tim Spencer will be joining Shoreham Vehicle Auctions as their commercial vehicle manager on March 1, 2014 to help grow its commercial vehicle division.

Spencer will join Shoreham from Manheim where he was regional commercial manager (South).

He began his Manheim career in 2001 after originally cutting his teeth in the CV auction world at BCA in 1990 and will bring 20-plus years of experience to Shoreham.

This is not the first time that Spencer and Shoreham managing director Alex Wright have worked together.

Wright worked with Spencer at BCA for six years (from 1995 to 2000) and then hired Spencer when he was at Manheim in his capacity as commercial vehicle director before leaving in 2010 to set up Shoreham.

In his new role as commercial vehicle manager, Spencer will be tasked with growing the CV arm of Shoreham.

The division was established two-and-a-half years ago and regularly has sales in excess of 120 vehicles per sale from local and national vendors.

Shoreham currently operates van and truck sales every other Tuesday with entries included from local councils, British Gas, Enterprise Rent-a-Car and Hitachi Capital.

Spencer will be managing these relationships as well as growing new ones.

He said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Shoreham Vehicle Auctions at an exciting time of optimism and growth for the business. As well as being given the remit to grow the CV side of the business, I will continue to build and nurture relationships with all elements of the auction sale chain, from getting customers the strongest possible prices to supporting leasing companies with their residual values.”

Wright said: “Tim joining represents a strong investment in our business and demonstrates our commitment to commercial vehicle auctions as well as car auctions.

"Tim is a trusted figure in the industry, be it from buyers to leasing companies to manufacturers, and will bring years of expertise, knowledge and contacts. I personally can’t wait to work alongside him again to grow Shoreham Vehicle Auction’s influence in the commercial vehicle market.”
