Advertorial feature from RAC
The thinking behind Business Club was simple: SME fleet managers don’t just manage fleets, they have all kinds of other responsibilities as well. In fact, RAC research has found some 98% perform a variety of other duties from management to sales.
Designed to be a one-stop-shop for fleet managers, RAC Business Club gives members a password and login to access the secure online portal, from which they can manage their fleet. Online training is provided, backed by a helpline.
RAC Business Club offers the following valuable features which can be accessed via an online dashboard:
Driver/employee record logging
This lets the user load the driver into the system and allocates each driver to a vehicle.
If the vehicle was transferred to someone else, then that would be recorded as well.
That in itself is a duty of care purpose. If the car was in a crash the fleet manager could tell straightaway who was in it.
Fleet vehicle database
The administrator can input the vehicle registration number into the system. That system is linked to the DVLA and pulls back all the data: chassis number, colour, make, model, and anything that’s been recorded.
This saves the administrator time as these are details that they have probably been stored manually up until now. Now, all this information will come through at the press of a button, making it a massive time-saving feature.
Breakdown product access and administration
This is a simple convenience, giving fleet managers online access to their RAC breakdown policy and allowing them to renew and make changes to it in real time.
RAC Fuel Card access and administration
The RAC Fuel card allows businesses to reduce costs by managing fuel spend. It’s accepted at a network of sites so fleet managers are in control of where drivers refuel.
Maintenance and repair booking, schedules and documentation
This gives the user access to a wide variety of garages who bear the ‘RAC Approved’ mark of quality. The benefit is peace-of mind in knowing you’ve got an ‘RAC Approved’ list, and the convenience of having them all a click and an email away. In addition, servicing and MoTs, tyres (ATS), windscreens (Autoglass) and vehicle hire can also be arranged.
Once an email is sent via Business Club the garage will respond to the fleet manager directly.
Customised reporting
Another key benefit is the ability for fleet managers to produce and download customised vehicle and driver reports based on any information held within RAC Business Club.
Traditionally, a fleet manager might be used to producing reports that detail fuel use and spend by different vehicles on a weekly, monthly or annual basis. RAC Business Club takes reporting to a new level – not only can it produce customised reports automatically, reports can be run on a far more detailed basis. For example a fleet manager could produce a report listing miles per gallon by driver.
