Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is now standard specification on all Citroën Nemo, Berlingo and Dispatch LCVs produced from July 1, 2014.
With the recent launch of the New Relay, the entire Citroën LCV range now has ESC as standard. In addition to fitting ESC, Nemo, Berlingo and Dispatch LCVs produced from July 1, also benefit from further specification improvements.
ESC uses steering angle data and other information from the vehicle to detect if the vehicle is about to travel in a different direction to that indicated by the steering wheel position. ESC then automatically reduces engine power and brakes the appropriate wheel to help the driver maintain control.
In addition to the standard fitment of ESC, the following changes have also been introduced:
Nemo: The Nemo HDi 75 Stop & Start EGS 660 LX van has been renamed Nemo HDi 75 Stop & Start ETG 660 LX to bring the ETG model into line with the rest of the range. It also gains a Gear Efficiency Indicator, which is already standard equipment on versions with manual gearboxes.
The ETG gearbox has optimised pedal mapping to more effectively adjust power for smoother start-ups and acceleration. Gear change speeds are modulated more precisely, based on driver input, for improved performance and comfort and its optimised gear shift patterns further improve efficiency.
As a result of these changes - with the exception of the Nemo HDi 75 Stop & Start ETG 660 LX, where ESC was already standard - the price of all Nemo vans has increased by £50.00 + VAT from 1 July.
Berlingo: In addition to ESC, all Berlingo vans, crew vans and platform cabs will be fitted with Hill Start Assist from
1 July. The price of all Berlingo LCVs - except Berlingo ETG6 and Berlingo Electric vans, where ESC was already standard - has increased by £50.00 + VAT.
Dispatch: Concurrent with the fitting of ESC as standard on all Dispatch LCVs, the Dispatch HDi 90 manual L1H1 1000 vans, in standard and Enterprise form, move from 15-inch wheels and rear drum brakes, to 16-inch wheels and rear disc brakes.
In addition, cruise control with driver programmable speed limiter becomes standard on all Dispatch panel vans, crew vans and platform cabs. As a result of these improvements, effective 1 July, Dispatch LCV prices have increased by £80 + VAT.
Jeremy Smith (pictured), Citroën's head of commercial vehicles & business sector operations, said: "Citroën continues to improve the specification of its award-winning LCV range.
"These latest changes to the Nemo, Berlingo and Dispatch, together with the recently launched New Relay, will further enhance the competitive positioning of our LCV range and will significantly benefit fleet and business customers here in the UK."
