Kwik-Fit Fleet former managing director Ron Bambra died on January 15, aged 71.
Bambra, helped establish the fleet division of the company in St Albans 25 years ago, and held a number of positions in the organisation before retiring in 2002.
He also held a non-executive director role at Manheim Auctions.
John Bailey, executive vice president, International, at Cox Automotive (parent company of Manheim) said: “Ron was one of the motor industry’s much-liked characters, whose depth of knowledge and experience in the sector, notably gained when he steered Kwik-Fit to great heights during the 80’s and 90’s, was impressive.
"He was with Manheim in a non-executive director capacity for three years after his retirement from Kwik-Fit in 2002 and was greatly respected within our company. He will be truly missed and our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.”
