MG has revealed the new ZS SUV, which is set to arrive on UK roads before the end of the year.
Initially, the ZS is offered with a Hybrid powertrain. A pure petrol model will join the line-up later.
The ZS EV will be replaced by an all-new model, based on a different platform, in 2025.
Prices for the new MG ZS Hybrid+ start at £21,995. The car is available in two trim levels: SE and Trophy.
The MG ZS Hybrid+ shares a powertrain with the new MG 3. It's a 1.5-litre petrol unit, paired with an electric motor. Total power output is 196PS.
The engine can power the wheel directly or drive a generator that provides power to the car's electric motor.
Official fuel consumption is rated at 55.4mpg, while CO2 emissions are 115g/km.
The ZS SE comes with full LED lighting front and rear, a 12.3-inch HD infotainment display with navigation and live services, a seven-inch virtual driver display, rear parking sensors with camera, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and keyless entry.
MG Pilot, which comprises a comprehensive range of safety and driver assistance technologies, is standard on both models, and includes adaptive cruise control, active emergency braking with pedestrian and bicycle detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot detection, forward collision warning, and traffic jam assist.
For an additional £2,500, the Trophy edition gains 18-inch 'Sabre’ alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, leather style upholstery, heated front seats and steering wheel, six-way electrically-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, and a 360-degree surround view camera.
The MG ZS Hybrid+ is available to order now, with first deliveries to MG dealerships starting in October 2024.
