Leasing giant Ayvens will launch its comprehensive Sustainable Mobility Report on Monday, as part of a major contribution to Fleet News's inaugural Sustainable Mobility Week.
Programme partner Ayvens has carried out research looking at whether pressure from external stakeholders and activists, teamed with a lack of government support and clarity, is contributing to a rise in ‘green-silencing’ practices in environmental and sustainability reporting among businesses.
The study, which targeted fleets with more than 250 vehicles, gathered data during late September and early October.
Fleet News will exclusively share the report’s findings with its online audience throughout Sustainable Mobility Week, which takes place from Monday to Friday (November 11 to 15).
They will also be discussed in a special webinar taking place on Tuesday November 12.

Sustainable Mobility Week in association with Ayvens has been launched to highlight and help prepare fleet/mobility managers and industry stakeholders for the future, with a focus on sustainable mobility and decarbonisation.
The theme for the week is ‘shaping fleet strategies for the next decade: solutions for today and tomorrow’.

The week will be divided into daily topics, each highlighting a particular element of sustainable mobility, while a webinar on Tuesday November 12 will bring together a panel of fleet experts to discuss how they are adopting sustainable mobility within their operations.
Day 1: Alternative mobility solutions
The role of alternative forms of mobility on a sustainable fleet, with examples of successes (and failures) to help companies consider the right solutions for them.
The Ayvens research will consider whether challenges faced by fleets around EV adoption are impacting their long-term sustainability planning with many delaying or deprioritising micro-mobility solutions.
Day 2: Infrastructure
How to control and plan fuel costs, infrastructure requirements, cost of charging (including the difference between workplace, public, home charging) and how to reimburse charging costs.
Ayvens, in its research, will seek to determine whether the perceived difficulty of adopting sustainable fuels is significantly impacting fleet decision-making, leading businesses to favour conventional fuels over sustainable options.
Day 3: Policy - fleet & Government
The impact of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and the business cost of migrating to sustainable mobility, plus finding the balance between prioritising environmental, social and economic factors.
The Ayvens research will ask whether fleets are apprehensive about accelerating any decarbonisation plans due to ever-changing goals outlined by different governments.
Day 4: People
Driver wellbeing – how a sustainable mobility policy impacts drivers and why EVs might be good for drivers. To include managing driver resistance / acceptance, how to manage change to drivers’ work patterns with charging at lunchtime / during the day/ at home.
Ayvens will also identify whether fleets believe investment in sustainability-focused driver training and education will lead to significant cost savings by reducing fuel consumption, maintenance, and vehicle downtime.
Day 5: Operational change
Operating models, considerations and changes required when migrating to a more sustainable fleet, including how vehicles are used, are all vehicles suitable for transition, where and when vehicles are charged, productivity implications of an electrified fleet, impact on route planning.
Ayvens will determine whether fleet decision-makers feel in control of their own progression pathway to net zero. Do they feel the challenge is too complex to solve across business divisions and their supply chains?
