Audi has showcased the 450-mile A6 e-tron ahead of its launch in September.
The new model replaces the existing A6 model and becomes the latest member of Audi's electric line-up.
Using the brand's new Premium Platform Electric (PPE), the A6 e-tron Sportback is capable of providing a 450-mile range. The Avant version can cover up to 430 miles.
Two versions of the A6 e-tron will be available from launch: the A6 e-tron Performance and the S6 e-tron. The Performance models have a system output of up to 367PS and are rear-wheel drive. The Audi A6 e-tron Performance accelerates from 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 130mph.
The S6 e-tron models use Quattro all-wheel drive and have a system output of 503PS and up to 550PS with launch control, which enables a 0-62mph time of 3.9 seconds. The top speed is 149mph.
Further models with rear-wheel drive or Quattro all-wheel drive will follow at a later date.
The initial variants are equipped with a 100kWh battery.
By using 800-volt technology and a maximum DC charging capacity of 270kW as standard, short charging stops are possible with the Audi A6 e-tron. This means the A6 Sportback e-tron Performance can be recharged at an appropriate charging station for a range of up to 192 miles in just 10 minutes. The State of Charge increases from 10% to 80% in 21 minutes.
Equipped with Plug & Charge, the vehicle authorises itself at compatible charging stations when the charging cable is plugged in and activates the charging process. The charging process is fully automatic. If a charging station works with 400-volt technology, the Audi A6 e-tron can use bank charging. To enable this, the 800-volt battery is split into two banks, each with a voltage of 400 volts, which can then be charged in parallel with up to 135kW. AC charging with up to 11kW is possible.
The interior of the Audi A6 e-tron features MMI panoramic display, with its curved design and OLED technology. This consists of the 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit and the 14.5-inch MMI touch display. There is also a 10.9-inch MMI front passenger display,.
UK pricing and specifications will be published in September, when the A6 and S6 e-tron go on sale.
