B-ON has unveiled its Pelkan electric van, which will have a range of up to 185 miles, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
The manufacturer said the vehicle, which will be available in both 54kWh and 43kWh variants, will achieve a payload of 1,234kg to 1,320kg, combined with a battery range of up to 185 miles.
It is designed to be more ergonomic for drivers and more cost-competitive for business owners than comparable offerings in its class, the company added.
B-ON also displayed its proprietary smart dispenser technology, which is designed to significantly reduce the time required for drivers to load unload packages in last-mile delivery situations.
The system is made up of a rotating set of shelves that sit in the vehicle’s cargo box, directly inside a row of scanners.
The technology scans the address of each package as it is loaded into a shelf and uses GPS to automatically retrieve the corresponding package as the driver arrives at their destination.
No sorting or stacking is required, and the system will indicate to the driver if the wrong package is pulled at the destination.
B-ON says the technology could pay for itself within six months due to the increased productivity it will bring.
Bruno Lambert, CEO of B-ON, said: “Productivity is not just a metric for us; it’s a philosophy that drives our commitment to creating vehicles that enhance efficiency and profitability.”
