Mobility provider AAM Group has launched a new company to address and resolve the supply challenges presented by current vehicle shortages.
Onwrd will coordinate all AAM Group’s current supplier relationships and services, to package and provide a new mobility solution.
Its new services will provide access to multiple mobility channels including vehicle rental, car sharing via car club partnerships, pool fleet solutions, chauffeur drive, private hire cars and vehicle subscription via AAM Group subsidiary subscription company, MyCarDirect.
Mark Thompson has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Onwrd and will be responsible for driving business growth via both new and existing corporate customers.
Thompson has been with AAM Group for over 12 years and has experience across fleet, rental, breakdown, and mobility sectors, previously looking after fleet procurement and overseeing customer and supplier relations.
He said: “I am very excited to take up this new challenge as Managing Director of Onwrd. As our proposition evolves, Onwrd will help customers combat the issues of vehicle shortages by finding more solutions to moving people and goods and keeping them mobile. Supply in more conventional channels such as vehicle rental will continue to be constrained, so we are seeking new ways to address these challenges.”
Colin Mather, AAM Group chief operating officer, added “With the current vehicle supply shortages, the corporate market is screaming out for a bespoke mobility solution. Our new subsidiary company, Onwrd, fulfills this need by offering a comprehensive package of mobility solutions and Mark Thompson’s experience makes him the ideal candidate to bring these solutions to market.”
David Finnie also joins the Group and will take up the role of director of fleet, with responsibility for developing both customer and supplier relationships. Finnie joins the business after many years with the Stellantis Group, more latterly with their dealer group Robbins & Day.
