Cupra is now accepting orders for the Born VZ.

The new 'hot' version offers greater performance and handling, along with more range.

Prices start at £44,625.

The Born VZ has a power output of 326PS - an improvement of 40% - and 575Nm of torque. This enables a 0-62mph acceleration time of just 5.6 seconds.

It can travel up to 372 miles (WLTP) on a charge, thanks to an improved battery back with a useable capacity of 79kWh.

To support the car's enhanced performance, the Born VZ benefits from modified suspension, steering and brakes. There's also a new 20-inch wheel design and wider tyres, to improve grip.

Paddle shifters have been added to the car's steering wheel, allowing drivers to choose between three different levels of energy recuperation.

Cupra has upgraded the infotainment system with a new 12.9-inch screen that incorporates illuminated 'slider' switches for the volume and temperature controls, addressing a criticism of the previous setup. It can be paired with a new 10-speaker audio system from Sennheiser.
