Cupra has unveiled its all-new Terramar SUV, which will compete in the mid-size SUV segment.
As a rival to cars like the Ford Kuga, Kia Sportage and VW Tiguan, the Terramar takes a sportier, performance focused approach.
It will be sold alongside the existing Cupra Ateca.
Among the range of powertrains on offer, the Terramar will feature a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) with a zero-emission range of at least 70 miles will be offered - placing it in the 5% benefit-in-kind (BiK) tax band.
The car follows Cupra's latest design language, with a "shark-nose" front end and distinctive LED headlamps.
Inside, the cockpit is angled towards the driver and features a 12.9-inch central touchscreen that runs newly-designed software.
Powertrain options will include a mild hybrid eTSI with 150PS as the entry-level model.
A pair of TSI petrol units with all-wheel-drive will offer 204PS and 265PS , the latter reserved for sportier 'VZ' variants.
The PHEV will also be offered with two power outputs: 204PS and 272PS. Shared with other VW Group models, including the VW Golf, it uses a new 1.5-litre TSI unit and a 19.7kWh battery. The electric only range will be more than 70 miles, for these models.
Pricing and full specifications will be confirmed when the car goes on sale towards the end of the year.
