Dedicated electric vehicle (EV) tyres from Enso will be more accessible to commercial fleets and their drivers after the company struck a deal with i247 Group.
The EV tyres, which Enso says can boost EV range by 10% and cut particulate pollution by 35%, are now being stocked by more than 4,000 fitting centres, including Halfords.
Mobile fitting services will also support fleets on the move.
The partnership is a key move for Enso’s growth ambitions and its mission to support the growing EV market with tyres designed specifically for high-mileage commercial use.
Gunnlaugur Erlendsson, CEO of Enso, said: “Choosing the right tyre can lead to significant cost savings every mile.
“Our fleet-first approach ensures high-mileage EV drivers have access to affordable tyres that last longer, increase EV range, and reduce pollution, putting more cash in drivers’ pockets and directly tackling tyre pollution.
“Our partnership with i247 Group fills a critical gap in the market for EV-specific high-performance tyres, helping both drivers and fleet operators adapt to the growing EV transition.”
Enso’s EV tyres are specifically engineered to meet the demands of high-mileage and high-performance EVs, including delivery vans and ride-hail vehicles.
Drivers switching to its tyres, says Enso, can gain up to 10% more EV range while benefiting from enhanced performance and safety that’s rated two levels above typical replacement tyres.
It also claims its tyres reduce energy and tyre costs per mile compared to other premium alternatives, helping fleets lower their total cost of ownership (TCO).
Independently validated during Transport for London (TfL) trials, Enso tyres were shown to reduce particulate pollution by up to 35%, with emissions testing conducted by specialists at Emissions Analytics.
The real-world trials, conducted over 15 months through TfL’s Freight Lab programme with fleets such as DPD and Royal Mail, also showed that Enso tyres demonstrated superior durability on EV delivery fleets, lasting longer than standard tyres.
Sam Mason, managing director of i247 Group, said: “Our partnership with Enso gives UK fleet operators and drivers access to groundbreaking tyre technology that improves efficiency, safety, and sustainability whilst reducing the total cost of ownership for EV fleet operators.
“i247’s extensive panel of suppliers allows Enso customers access to reactive and proactive tyre replacement services ensuring we keep vehicles and drivers on the road for longer.”
The partnership with i247 Group builds on Enso’s recent commercial momentum, including its three-year strategic partnership with Uber.
The collaboration with Uber will provide thousands of UK and US Uber drivers access to specially discounted Enso tyres through a dedicated Buyer’s Club, further supporting Uber’s transition to EVs by helping their EV drivers to earn more every mile.
Enso is also expanding its presence in the United States, developing a $500 million carbon-neutral tyre factory set to open in 2027.
Enso’s US facility will initially produce over five million tyres annually and create more than 600 green jobs.
