Enterprise Mobility opens new branch in Cornwall
Enterprise Mobility is continuing its expansion in Cornwall with the opening of its newest Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch in St Austell.
The new facility, located on Eliot Road, is the latest addition in a programme of significant investment in the region over the past 18 months, which has been in response to rising customer demand and evolving transport needs.
The new branch joins other Enterprise Mobility locations in Bodmin, Truro, Penryn and Penzance, as well as a recently opened branch at Cornwall Airport, Newquay.
Chris Nutbeem, of Artemyn Minerals, said: “Enterprise Mobility’s straightforward and flexible approach to business contracts, along with its investment in local infrastructure, especially the St Austell branch, has truly made a difference in our first few months of operation.”
Brian Swallow, vice president and general manager for Enterprise Mobility in the Southwest, added: “Our focus is on how we can best support the communities that we serve by extending our network and offering more options to make it easier for people and businesses to access the mobility they need, when they need it.
“We are delighted to be investing in this vibrant and historic community and helping to be a part of its future prosperity and success.”
Alphabet delivers enhanced funding tool for brokers
Alphabet says it has significantly enhanced the quote and order process for brokers to help boost operational efficiency and accelerate the customer journey.
It follows the launch of Alphabet’s new credit management interface, which represents a substantial upgrade to its existing plugin, first unveiled at the company’s Partner Relaunch event in June 2024.
The advanced functionality now provides brokers with an end-to-end solution, to enable customers to request a quote for a vehicle and receive a funding decision too.
This is facilitated using the inferface’s new automated fraud detection and credit check capability, which provides customers with an answer in minutes.
Richard Chadwick, head of indirect sales for Alphabet (GB), said: “The original quote and order interface enabled customers to choose their vehicle and request a quote, but to have the ability to accurately assess an individual's creditworthiness in real-time, without the need for manual intervention, is a real game-changer.
“The feedback that we’ve already received has been extremely positive, which is a win-win for customers and brokers alike.”
Engineius saves fleets millions of tonnes in CO2 emissions
Vehicle movement specialist Engineius has saved fleets more than 10 million tonnes in CO2 emissions since they launched in 2018 by not using chaser vehicles.
Before launching, Engineius conducted a study with a major utility business highlighting that using chaser vehicles resulted in 24 miles driven for every 10 miles required.
Engineius’ platform intelligently joins suitable movements together where possible, thus reducing empty legs. Where this is not possible, drivers utilise public transport to travel between locations.
Chris Clibbery, CEO and founder of Engineius, said: “Our vision was to make vehicle movement easy but to also adopt best practices and raise industry standards.”

Webfleet reaches new sustainability milestone with first gold EcoVadis rating
Webfleet, Bridgestone’s globally trusted fleet management solution, has received a ‘Gold’ rating from EcoVadis for 2024.
This is the first time Webfleet has achieved Gold status from the ratings provider, putting it in the top 5% of around 150,000 companies assessed globally by EcoVadis.
EcoVadis assesses organisations on the quality of their sustainability management systems and their commitment to promoting transparency throughout the value chain.
Receiving ‘Bronze’ in its first EcoVadis rating in 2022 and again in 2023, provided a baseline and Webfleet has since made significant improvements.
“Reaching Gold in just two years is a testament to Webfleet’s strong commitment to environmental, social and ethical responsibility,” said Jan-Maarten de Vries, president of Fleet Management Solutions at Bridgestone.
The enhanced EcoVadis rating coincides with a series of improvements Webfleet is making in the way it manages and drives sustainability across its business and operations.
A key area of progress has been in environmental responsibility, where Webfleet has taken significant steps to reduce its carbon footprint and support its customers on their decarbonisation journeys.
Among its key initiatives, Webfleet has transitioned 80% of its product packaging to sustainable materials and is working towards increasing this to 95% by 2026.
Additionally, all Webfleet data centres and 80% of its office locations are now powered by 100% renewable energy.
