Lifesaving vehicle supplied by Runyourfleet helps save up to 300 lives

An emergency vehicle supplied to community first responders by vehicle leasing company Multifleet Vehicle Management has helped to save up to 300 lives.

The company based in Henley-in-Arden, which trades as Runyourfleet, handed over the new Kia Ceed Sportswagon to the Arrive Alive charity in the summer of 2022.

Arrive Alive supports various community first responder schemes with the provision of lifesaving resources to attend 999 calls.

In the first two years, the vehicle has spent an average of 50 voluntary hours every week on duty, completing more than 290 category one 999 calls since its launch.

Debbie Roscoe, from Arrive Alive, said: “The Runyourfleet car has enabled Alcester Community First Responders supported by Arrive Alive to be ready to respond to emergencies for an average of 50 hours every week.

“This has involved nearly 300 category one 999 calls, which are those that involve the most immediate threat to life, requiring the highest emergency response.

“That means the vehicle has helped to save up to 300 lives since the summer of 2022, which is an incredible number that we’re very grateful to Runyourfleet for helping us to achieve.”

The Arrive Alive charity was founded by Roscoe following her youngest daughter Ellie’s life- threatening case of measles in 2017.

Steve Whitmarsh, managing director of Runyourfleet, said: “Everyone at Runyourfleet is so pleased to hear about such positive results from Arrive Alive vehicle we provided.

“We are delighted to support the fantastic work that Arrive Alive is doing with various community fast responder groups across the Midlands.

“The service these people selflessly provide for their communities is amazing, and we are very happy to be playing a small part.”

WSG director to take on truck pull challenge

Steph Newbery, group marketing director of Warranty Solutions Group (WSG), will be pulling trucks to raise £5,000 for St Piers school - a special needs school in Lingfield, Surrey for children and young adults – on Sunday, September 8.

The Horley Charity Truck Pull, organised by Big Pete’s Strength Events, will see teams of two pulling three gigantic HGVs: a 20-tonne lorry, 30-tonne lorry and a 40-tonne volumetric concrete lorry.

St Piers is a creative environment for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, including epilepsy, autism and severe learning difficulties.

It believes that nothing should stand in the way of a full education, personal development or physical and emotional wellbeing.

The school’s purpose is to create an environment of growth, where young people can thrive and become a valued part of their community.

It has guiding principles, both in the classroom and beyond, that allow children and young people not only to achieve academic success, but also to realise their potential and go on to lead happy, fulfilled lives.

Garage equipment franchise opportunities across Britain and Ireland

SharkEye is teaming up with Fasep, the Italian garage equipment producer, and Eurotek to offer 33 van-based sales and service franchise investment opportunities across Britain and Ireland.

Carl Gibson, managing director of SharkEye, said: “This is a unique opportunity to run your own sales and service business with direct, expert backing from three major automotive brands.”

Van-based franchisees on each of the 33 zones will be licensed to sell, install and service SharkEye, Fasep and Eurotek products. They will enjoy exclusivity on product servicing in their territory and trade discounts.

Fabio Boni, managing director of Fasep, said: “We’re excited about working closely with franchisees who share our desire for giving customers the highest quality service.”

Carl Allenson, managing director of Eurotek, added: “We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting project to cater more fully for customers' growing demand for excellence in garage equipment.”

SharkEye is currently running a pilot franchise from which it is gleaning data to underpin sales and profit predictions for its franchise zones.

Two thirds of SharkEye’s franchise zones are predicted to be “multi-van” territories, expected to require more than one vehicle to keep pace with demand once things start moving and assuming each of these territories are well set up and managed by their franchisees.

Franchisees will enjoy the daily direct support of the SharkEye central team, which boasts four decades of wheel aligner and garage equipment expertise.

Quartix and Veriforce Chas have announced a new partnership, with Chas members having access to Quartix’s vehicle tracking and telematics services at a discounted rate.

Quartix is already a Chas Verified Supplier. The extended partnership with Veriforce Chas aims to help their members as they work to manage compliance, mitigate risk and make their operations more efficient.

Beyond operational efficiency, this partnership also emphasises driver safety and wellbeing—a key focus for both organisations.

In response to research from Causeway Technologies showing that 56% of on-site construction workers have experienced mental health issues, Veriforce Chas has launched a mental health and wellbeing evaluation tool for the construction industry.

Meanwhile, Quartix underscored its commitment to mental health by making MIND their charity of the year last year.

Sean Maher, sales director at Quartix, said: “At Quartix, we believe that the safety and wellbeing of staff are paramount, a cause that resonates deeply with our team.

“We understand that driver wellbeing significantly impacts performance and safety, and our monitoring solutions can help identify and support drivers facing additional stress.”

David Turner, VP marketing at Veriforce Chas, added: “This partnership with Quartix enhances the value we offer to our members by providing them with discounted access to vehicle tracking services. It’s an excellent complement to our mission of ensuring supply chain compliance and risk management.”

Chas members can claim their discounts when signing up as a new customer by contacting Quartix and providing their membership number. The offer is available to all new Quartix customers who are also Chas members.
