Evri orders 139 more box van trailers from Tiger

Evri has ordered 139 additional twin-axle van trailers from Tiger, with the order split into three batches, the first of which is currently nearing completion.

The remainder will be delivered by mid-Q4 ready for the UK’s Black Friday retail period followed by Christmas, during which time it expects to transport more than three million parcels.

David Landy, Evri’s head of fleet, said: “We’re delighted with the new trailers, they look great and are helping us celebrate our heritage and 50 years of courier deliveries.

“We have a great relationship with Tiger and they have been superb in meeting our unique needs for the new trailers.”

At four metres in height and manufactured to Evri’s requirements, the new trailers have once again been designed and manufactured with operational robustness and longevity in mind, with a galvanised rear frame and integrated rear buffers.

There is also a full-length stutter door strap to enable closure from ground level to mitigate any potential strain injuries, and a retractable tail-lift from Dhollandia with P-gates aids loading and unloading.

Yellow side infills, meanwhile, increase safety for cyclists, and Haldex’s GEN-4 braking system along with its TEM (Trailer Emergency Module) safe parking valve aim to heighten safety during yard operation and driving on the road.

Darren Holland, Tiger Trailers’ sales director, said: “At each enquiry stage we go through the same process of evaluation of the existing fleet to ensure that the final trailer design is perfect for the Evri operation.

“We are very proud of the relationship and the final trailers that we are supplying into their operation.”

Stanmore Quality Services takes delivery of fleet of Isuzu trucks

Stanmore Quality Services (SQS) is taking delivery of 25 new Isuzu N75.150(E) trucks, ordered after the business was impressed by the first of the manufacturer’s 7.5-tonners acquired in early 2023.

The new trucks are set to replace older vehicles from another manufacturer in SQS’s 40-strong 7.5-tonne fleet.

James Gupwell, transport director for SQS, said: “I’ve always been impressed by the Isuzu product, so when the time came to begin refreshing our 7.5-tonners last year, the brand was top of our shopping list.

“As soon as we got the first trucks on the road, we knew we wanted to transition the rest of our 7.5-tonners to Isuzu as vehicles came up for replacement at five years old. This order for 25 is a significant statement of that intention.”

The new N75.150(E) chassis cabs have each been mounted with an insulated tarmac tipping body from Southern Vehicle Bodies.

Primarily used to support road repair following the completion of utility works, the trucks are designed to maintain required load temperatures during transport to allow the new surfacing material to be laid immediately upon arrival.

The new Isuzu trucks join a mixed fleet of more than 400 commercial vehicles, ranging from 3.5 to 32-tonnes.

Fitted with a camera system and a full telematics package, they will be on the road six days a week, averaging 30,000 miles a year.

The SQS team work closely with its nearest Isuzu Truck dealer, DT Trucks, as well as national fleet sales manager, Lee Tansley.

All servicing will be managed through DT Trucks and the Isuzu dealer network, with the vehicles operating from SQS’s five depots.
