Motiva Group is set to manage the 182-strong fleet of cars and light commercials operated by Contract Fire Security.
The long-term partnership will also see Motiva become the sole vehicle supplier to CFS.
Jane White, fleet and risk management specialist at Motiva Group, said: “We’ll control the day-to-day management of the CFS fleet and, because our system is so efficient and effective, it will deliver significant savings in terms of both time and cost.
“In developing the programme, we recognised the needs of our customers to manage the entire fleet, the drivers and the operational complexities involved in the CFS business.
“So along with in-life vehicle management, maintenance and repair, we’ll provide CFS with detailed risk management, driver profiling and grey fleet solutions.
“We’ll deliver a view of how the fleet is performing on a monthly basis and we’ll carry out follow-up consultations and resolutions – something which is quite new to the market.”
Stephen Butler, finance director for CFS, is confident the deal will lead to considerable long-term savings for the Sutton Coldfield company.
He said: “By outsourcing the management of our entire fleet through Motiva Group, we expect to improve control and reduce costs."
CFS plans to extend the relationship with Motiva Group in a move to consolidate its vehicle procurement strategy.
Butler added: “We’re currently running contracts with a number of different vehicle solutions companies, but will reduce those to a single provider over the next two to three years.
“Motiva Group already supplies around 20% of the CFS fleet, but that will increase as other contracts expire until they become our sole providers and because all of our vehicles will then be sourced from and managed by the same company, there should be substantial long-term advantages.
“It’s a policy which will deliver through a simple economy of scale, but there’ll also be many additional benefits such as the assurance of a more robust maintenance and repair function.”
