Vehicle Quality Solutions (VQS) has signed a new contract to provide a range of inspection services and systems for the FCA Group on several thousands of cars and vans each year.
The contract is to provide inspection services for the FCA Group’s management, demo and rental car fleets, including the management of the buy back and recharge process for its rental customers through a dedicated authorisation portal.
VQS will also provide a pre refurbishment estimate authorisation and a post refurbishment inspection to ensure the cost and quality of each vehicle repair is optimised.
VQS will inspect all FCA products returning to its refurbishment centre. This includes all Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Jeep and Fiat Professional vehicles using a bespoke version of its own inspection system and software which integrates directly into FCA back office systems.
All inspections are carried out at the FCA refurbishment centre in Long Bennington, Lincolnshire by VQS inspectors using its new tablet system, which utilises Windows 10 software equipped with the latest high resolution imagery.
Tristan Downs, FCA’s group remarketing manager said: “We put a high priority on vehicle inspection and VQS has been our trusted partner in this area since 2002. We have worked together to ensure all elements of our inspection process are optimised including quality and consistency which has been further enhanced with recent upgrades by VQS in its software and the ability to take high quality images,” he added.
Simon Jackson, managing director of VQS said: “We are very proud of our Fiat partnership and we have inspected nearly 150,000 vehicles since we started working together in 2002. We have worked hard over the past few years to ensure our inspectors deliver very accurate and consistent inspections and have further developed our own inspections software to reflect this. The dedicated FCA inspection team are fully trained to the FCA standards ensuring a full understanding of the product and the FCA Dealer Networks expectation of quality.”
