The Freight Transport Association (FTA), one of the UK’s largest trade associations whose members operate half the UK fleet, is to support this year’s Fleet Management Live 2017.
As part of the backing for the show, FTA will provide updates to its nationwide membership, including some of the UK’s biggest fleet operators.
The organisation will also be at the show to tell visitors about the Van Excellence programme, a ground-breaking scheme designed by some of the best van operators in the UK to promote excellence in the sector and to improve operational standards.
The programme includes the Van Excellence code, which outlines best practice for van operators and aims to raise standards across the industry.
The Van Excellence Driver Certificate of Competence – a driver training qualification created by FTA - was named most innovative new product or service at this year’s Fleet News Awards.
Mark Cartwright, the FTA’s head of vans, said: “We are delighted to be working with Fleet Management Live.
“With more than four million vans on the UK’s roads, it is vital to improve safety and compliance within the industry and help businesses of all sizes focus on professionalism in their van operations.”
FTA is one of a range of partners that are supporting Fleet Management Live, which reflects its increased size and coverage to include cars, vans and lorries and all the roles that are influenced by transport, ranging from fleet management to procurement, HR, finance, risk management and mobility management.
This year’s show also caters for all fleet sizes, with presentations for specialists in large fleets and SME-focused sessions for multi-tasking managers in small businesses.
Chris Lester, event director, said: “Fleet Management Live is designed by the industry, for the industry and we are delighted that its importance has been recognised by FTA by joining us as an industry partner.
“The show is expanding significantly this year and the presence of a wide range of industry organisations reflects the importance this show has as one of the most influential events in the fleet calendar.”
Fleet Management Live takes place at the NEC in Birmingham on October 3 and 4.
