Tracker has launched its S5 Plus stolen vehicle recovery system which is designed to protect motorists from the rising threat of GPS/GSM 'jamming' technology.
Thieves can use this to block systems designed to track stolen cars, but the S5 Plus combines VHF with GPS and GSM technology, which makes it resilient to jamming.
This patented network technology enables an activated device (as a result of theft) to be silently located by using other passing vehicles fitted with a Tracker device, helping police trace and recover vehicles.
Tracker S5 Plus also includes Europe-wide coverage with unauthorised driver alerts, using driver ID tags, as well as notifications of a low or disconnected battery.
Andy Barrs, head of police liaison at Tracker, said: “Jamming devices are readily available on the internet for thieves to buy, posing a very real risk to vehicle owners.
"Most security systems rely on GPS alone, but this isn’t enough.
"Tracker S5 Plus uses a unique combination of technology, offering motorists the most effective protection, even if the GPS signal is blocked.
"The system is also compatible with all hybrid and electric cars, ensuring we meet the growing demand for greener motoring by offering the same high level of protection for all vehicles.”

If the same VHF then it only transmits that signal around 3 miles so not that much use, so same old re marketing again from Tracker.
