Fleet Europe has been appointed by global transport and logistics company Maersk for short-term vehicle rental services.
Fleet Europe will provide rental management and damage support to several of its UK divisions. These include The Maersk Company, Maersk Line and Damco.
Maersk will now have access to Fleet Europe’s 400,000-strong fleet, from more than 1,500 locations nationwide. It will also provide a dedicated account management team and an online booking system with remote access.
Staff will be utilising a range of vehicle groups, from city cars to executive saloons to support various mobility requirements across the business, including:
- Transport for cadets that are being trained at various locations by Maersk to become deck and engineering officers for the business.
- Temporary lead-in vehicles for new employees to use during their probationary period, prior to ordering their company car.
- Ad-hoc transport for staff attending internal and external meetings off-site who don’t have access to company cars.
- One-way hires for employees travelling to and from airports that need the convenience of dropping off and collecting vehicles at airport branches nationwide.
By switching their short-term rental requirements to Fleet Europe, Maersk has reported that it stands to make a projected saving of over 13% on their annual rental expenditure.
Maersk’s fleet manager Peter Sani said: “Switching our daily rental requirements to Fleet Europe has delivered substantial savings compared with our previous supplier.
"Their unique de-risk service also offers peace of mind that our drivers are always covered for any minor damage to their vehicle, regardless of who is at fault.”
