Fleets from throughout the UK have been recognised for their work to reduce their impact on the environment at the Energy Saving Trust’s Fleet Heroes awards.
The scheme acknowledges winners across nine categories, with recipients including local authorities and distribution companies.
London Borough of Hackney was named Fleet Hero, with Dundee City Council receiving the honour for ultra low emission vehicle infrastructure hero.
Matthew Eastwood, head of transport at Energy Saving Trust said: “The 13th Fleet Heroes awards and conference highlights the extent to which zero emission vehicles are becoming more and more widely adopted into fleet operations, as well as what further innovative developments can be expected over the next five years.
“Congratulations to all the individuals and fleets recognised as Fleet Heroes at the 2018 awards.
“All are leading the way with their work to reduce carbon emissions and tackle air quality issues and can rightly be held up as shining examples of best in class.”
Roads Minister Jesse Norman added: “Fleet take-up of ultra-low emission vehicles is growing at more than three times the rate of the rest of the market, and they have huge potential to reduce the environmental impact of road transport and help the UK to meet its air quality and climate change objectives.”
