Brake, the road safety charity, is running a free webinar providing expert information and advice for employers and fleet and road safety professionals on driving in adverse weather conditions.

The webinar will be delivered by Global Fleet Champions, Brake’s not-for-profit global campaign to prevent crashes and reduce pollution caused by vehicles used for work purposes.

Global Fleet Champions is free and shares training, tools, and guidance on global fleet safety best practice with its members, as well as networking and development opportunities.

Brake’s upcoming webinar, 'Driving in adverse weather conditions', sponsored by MiX Telematics, will discuss the risks of driving in different weather conditions; how safe driving techniques and good vehicle maintenance can help minimise road danger during bad weather; technologies to ensure drivers’ safety.

The webinar takes place on Tuesday, January 28. Attendance is free, and you can register by booking online.

Sarah Plumb, senior fleet officer at Brake, said:  “Wherever possible, drivers should avoid travelling during bad weather conditions, but when a journey is unavoidable, organisations need to ensure they have rigorous policies in place for both driver behaviour and vehicle maintenance to reduce the risk of a crash and ensure they keep their drivers as safe as possible.”

Jonathan Bates, marketing director at MiX Telematics Europe, added: “Driving is perennially a risky business. We are proud to work with Brake to share our expertise in how safe driving technology and preventative maintenance can help minimise road danger during bad weather.”

Brake is a registered charity campaigning for road safety and sustainable transport and helping victims of road crashes.
