Bridgestone launches new online safety portal
Bridgestone has created a new online safety portal for drivers to coincide with Tyre Safety Month.
The portal features tips and advice on correct pressures, tread depths and product recommendations in terms of picking the right tyre.
The digital destination is helping support road safety charity TyreSafe and their safety month.
The online portal also provides advice on tyre inflation and how a vehicle’s handling, stability and fuel economy are affected as a result.
Andrea Manenti, Bridgestone’s North region managing director, said: “With October being Tyre Safety Month, now is the perfect time to reinforce some critical messages about the importance of fitting premium products and maintaining them thereafter.
“Your tyres are the only point of contact between the road and your vehicle. It doesn’t matter what gadgets and safety features are fitted to a car if the tyres aren’t in good working order beneath the bonnet.”
Epyx and i247 partner on dealer tyre fitting
A new partnership will see Epyx’s Tyreserve technology being used to provide dealer-based fitting to i247’s fleet customers.
TyreServe, which allows any of its registered 4,000 franchise or independent dealers with a workshop to offer tyre fitting, is being added to the panel of suppliers used by i247 to offer tyre management to its fleet clients.
Tim Meadows, chief commercial officer at Epyx, said: “TyreServe is a specialist add-on tyre management service module for our 1Link Service Network platform, which is used by fleets totalling more than four million vehicles to manage their service and maintenance needs.
“It exists as a complementary service to the mainstream fleet tyre sector, enabling dealers to provide tyre fitments at competitive prices at times when it is more convenient to the driver, such as the vehicle already being in for routine maintenance or where the usual tyre fitment partner does not have stock. It’s ideal for i247’s needs and is already being used by some major fleets.”
The outsourcing feature within TyreServe will be utilised to allow tyre authorisations to be automatically passed to i247 to be approved and billed directly, removing the need for a resource-heavy pay-and-reclaim process, said i247 group.
Webfleet partners with OEM to offer integrated telematics
Webfleet has partnered with Muses, a new eOEM, that produces electric vehicle (EVs) designed to transport goods in urban areas.
All Muses eLCVs will be equipped with Webfleet and will have immediate access to fleet management services, including the monitoring of fleet health and preventive maintenance scheduling.
Taco van der Leij, vice president at Webfleet Europe, said: “Partnerships like this give end-users valuable connectivity that helps them optimise fleet efficiency and reduce cost. That’s one of the reasons why we believe such partnerships are key to the future of mobility.”
