Engineius helps fleets CO2 emissions
In 2022, Engineius helped fleets save 1,838,232 of CO2 by adopting a greener approach to vehicle movement.
Tris Benson, commercial director at Engineius, said: “We don’t use chaser vehicles. This outdated practice more than doubles the mileage for a delivery. Our electric vehicle (EV) deliveries are driven and not transported on diesel trucks, which sounds obvious, but is not yet the industry standard practice and we offer an entirely digital journey.
“Like in many aspects of life, these wins are small, yet should not be overlooked as collectively they provide significant wins for fleet manager in reducing their carbon emissions.”
Research conducted by Engineius found that EVs were being delivered on diesel transporters, which is opposed to the EV cause and more expensive due to EVs being heavier than their fossil-fuelled counterparts.
Benson concludes: “Engineius is driven by technology, and all users will benefit from our commitment to ongoing research and development to continually improve our digital journey and reduce the impact of vehicle movement on the environment.”

Applied Driving partners with SureCam
Applied Driving has entered a partnership with video telematics company SureCam.
Under the agreement, Applied Driving's online web-application Riskmapp will be integrated with SureCam’s network-connected dash cameras to help fleets to enhance driver engagement, by receiving Triggered Training in conjunction with video footage of driving events.
“We have come together with SureCam to enhance our automated risk reduction solution, Companion+,” said Andy Phillips, global managing partner at Applied Driving.
“As a result, our fleet customers will now be able to complement our existing data capture and analysis with video. This will enable them to achieve even greater safety improvements by helping to identify and eliminate at-risk driver behaviour.
“We believe that this technology has the power to make our roads safer, protecting the lives and livelihoods of fleet drivers, owners, and the communities they serve.
“By partnering with likeminded industry experts, such as Applied Driving, we can deliver innovative, real-time video solutions that enable fleets to run safer, smarter, and more profitably.”
AutoProtect's mobile repair network becomes carbon neutral
AutoProtect Group’s Shine business has become a certified carbon neutral mobile repair network.
The network has gained PAS 2060 status, which is the only internationally recognised certification for organisational carbon neutrality, published by BSI.
Richard King, operations manager at AutoProtect Group, said: “With a fleet of 80 vehicles that last year covered over 1.58 million miles providing mobile car body repairs across the UK, we were very mindful of our carbon footprint.
“We have an ambitious commitment to play our part in tackling climate change. Our stepped plan to identify and reduce our carbon footprint is business wide. We have assessed the net tonnage of everything we do, our energy, and our supply chain.
“PAS 20260 certification is indisputable evidence that our carbon neutrality claims are credible and verified.
“It is something we see as the right thing to do and a way of boosting the confidence of our customers.
“Right now, offsetting using certified credits adds social and environmental value to our business model, but we will continue to challenge ourselves to reduce our direct and indirect emissions in everything we do.”
