Ford has added an electric powertrain option to the Puma, its best-selling model.
Competing in the electric compact SUV segment, the new Puma variant will rival the Hyundai Kona and Jeep Avenger.
The Puma Gen-E is priced from £29,995 and offers a 234-mile range.
Order books are already open and the first cars are expected to arrive in the UK in Spring 2025.
A 43kWh battery has been integrated into the car's modified platform. It is paired with a 168PS electric motor that drives the front wheels.
Ford quotes a 10% - 80% recharge time of 23 minutes, with a peak charging rate of 100kW.
With a kerb weight of 1,560Kg, the Puma Gen-E is around 300Kg heavier than a Puma Hybrid but still lighter than a Kona.
Acceleration from zero to 60mph takes eight seconds and the Puma Gen-E has a top speed of 100mph.
Despite the modified platform and new powertrain, Ford has managed to increase the Puma's luggage capacity. The boot has a maximum volume of 574 litres and there's an additional 43-litre storage space under the bonnet.
Exterior styling changes are limited to a revised spoiler, new front bumper and alloy wheel design. On the inside, the Puma Gen-E has a redesigned centre console with more storage space.
The standard equipment list includes a 12.0-inch central touchscreen with sat-nav and wireless smartphone connectivity, LED headlights, rear parking sensors and reversing camera, 17-inch alloy wheels and a digital instrument cluster.
Ford also offers a Premium trim grade, which adds 18-inch alloy-wheels, Matrix LED lights, keyless entry, B&O sound system and handsfree tailgate.
Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are optionally available as part of the Winter Pack (£350). There is also an optional Driver Assistance Pack (£950) that includes adaptive cruise control, 360-degree camera and blind spot monitoring.
