Automotive newcomers Omoda and Jaecoo are bringing new models to this year’s Company Car in Action.
Omoda will offer visitors the chance to get behind the wheel of its debut model, the compact SUV Omoda 5, which offers petrol and electric powertrain options.
It will also display new models set for launch later this year, the Omodo 9 and Jaecoo J7. Both Omoda and Jaecoo are subsidiaries of China’s largest carmaker Chery Automotive.
Company Car in Action will take place at Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire on 12-13 June and will offer fleet decision-makers and leasing company stakeholders to put around 200 full electric, plug-in hybrid and hybrid vehicles through their paces on four unique circuits. Register here.
Chris Clayton, national fleet sales manager for Omoda & Jaecoo UK said: "We always anticipated fleet sales being a key contributor to our success in the UK given our model line-up.
“When we started our planning late last year, Company Car in Action was the first key event on our radar as, especially for a new brand, it represents one of the best opportunities of the year for us to showcase our launch cars, Omoda5 (petrol) and Omoda E5 (electric).
"We'd also like to preview a couple of models which will be arriving later in the year, the Omoda 9 and Jaecoo J7, which will both have strong powertrain options for fleets."
In January, Clayton outlined the brand’s fleet strategy to Fleet News and said that building brand awareness was a top priority for Omoda this year. The company plans to sell 16,000 cars in the UK and Clayton expects around 50% of them will go to fleets. By 2025, sales are expected to hit 40,000 units.
Omoda plans to have a line-up of 18 different model and fuel types by 2026, including models from the Jaecoo brand, which target the premium market.
Other brands confirmed for CCIA are Abarth, Alfa Romeo, BMW, Citroen, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Ford, Jeep, Kia, Maserati, Maxus, MG, MINI, Nissan, Peugeot, Polestar, Suzuki, Vauxhall and Volvo.
CCIA also offers fleets the chance to network with major brands’ fleet teams as well as hear from expert speakers who will present on key topics in our daily seminar sessions, that this year will look at workplace electric vehicle charging and feature a panel of manufacturer fleet representatives discussing future products, BEV transition and technology developments.
