Hyundai has revealed a more rugged version of its Inster compact electric SUV.

The Inster Cross has a bolder appearance, with additional cladding, skid plates, side rocker panels and a roof rack.

It will be offered in an exclusive Amazonas Green Matte colour and will have a unique interior trim combination.

The Inster is Hyundai's smallest and cheapest electric car to date. Prices for the crossover start at £23,495.

Two powertrain options are offered. The base car has a 42kWh battery and a 95PS motor, providing a 203-mile range.

A Long Range variant, with a 49kWh battery and a more powerful 115PS motor, promises a 229-mile range.

Hyundai has not confirmed the pricing or specification for the Inster Cross.
