Prohire names new operations director

Prohire has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of Dean Bailey as operations director.

A trained technician with almost 40 years’ fleet industry experience, he has held senior operational leadership roles at Ryder and, more recently, Hexagon Leasing.

Bailey will have overall board responsibility for the maintenance of Prohire’s fleet, which includes vehicles from its alternative fuels division Progreen.

Tasked with the ongoing development of Prohire’s service, maintenance and repair (SMR) network, his management remit encompasses the company’s Vehicle Maintenance Units (VMUs) in Stoke-on-Trent and Tunbridge Wells, as well as its fleet of mobile technicians which services customers nationwide.

He will also be responsible for fleet engineering and all aspects of fleet compliance.

He said: “I’ve been in this industry for almost 40 years and it’s great to come to a company that’s thinking outside the box, proactively pushing the boundaries of service delivery and going the extra mile to support customers.

“I’m looking forward to what the future brings, especially in the area of alternative fuels, which Prohire has embraced through Progreen.”

NFU Mutual appoints new fleet risk manager

NFU Mutual has appointed a new fleet risk manager to help shape the commercial insurer’s fleet proposition and expand its current book.

Mark Bromhall joins having spent 19 years at Royal Mail, with the last nine of those in the role of road safety manager, achieving significant collision reductions during that time.

The 48-year-old, who started working as a claims handler in 1994 and developed a career within the insurance industry over the following 12 years, has primary expertise in fleet risk management as well as an understanding of life as a fleet operator and the challenges faced.

“I’ll be using those attributes to help inform business approaches and, most importantly, to support our customers in managing their road risk,” he said.

Bromhall will help NFU Mutual expand its fleet book and support policyholders.

He added: “Good fleet risk management is a critical element of running a successful fleet business and I’ll be helping NFU Mutual to support fleets across all sectors.”

Fliss O’Hara appointed managing director of Whistl Fulfilment

Whistl has announced that Fliss O’Hara has been appointed managing director of Whistl Fulfillment, after joining the business last year from GXO Logistics as commercial director for Fulfilment.

Taking over the role of commercial director is Michael Boulton, who has been with Whistl for more than 10 years and most recently led its cross border business.

Michael Leeson, who also joined last year from Monsoon Accessorize as a regional director, has taken a broader role as operations director for all Whistl’s Fulfilment activities. 

In addition, Abi Chapman is taking responsibility as finance director for the whole of Whistl Fulfilment.

Andy Richards appointed Amey’s new chief information officer

Amey has appointed Andy Richards as its new chief information officer (CIO) to play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s digital transformation.

He will be responsible for enhancing Amey’s IT capabilities and will help create more innovative, and secure technology solutions that will drive operational efficiency and overall deliver better outcomes for Amey’s clients.

With more than 30 years of experience in the technology sector, he brings people, technology and business enablement expertise having worked across consumer electronics, IT outsourcing, investment banking, aerospace and defence markets during his career.

His leadership at companies such as QinetiQ and ACCO Brands, and most recently as CIO at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, saw him spearhead the implementation of advanced digital, data, and cyber capabilities.

At Amey, Andy’s focus will be on leveraging and applying new technologies, such as AI, to enhance internal operations, streamline processes, and future-proof the business against evolving industry challenges.
