Street Fleet is launching a new offering to help fleets make the switch to electric vehicles (EVs).
Using telematics and bespoke advice, Street Fleet is geared towards helping businesses understand which vehicles can be electrified most easily, how they can be purchased/leased and where charging infrastructure needs to be installed to optimise vehicle utilisation.
The Street Fleet consortium group, consisting of Gemserv, Briggs Equipment, Dodona Analytics, Geotab and Liberty Charge, says the aim is to make the transition to electric fleets simpler and easier.
Street Fleet customers will have priority charging at locations that have been specifically selected to support their vehicle journeys.
Alex Goody, CEO of Gemserv, explained “We are excited to bring this offering to market with the Street Fleet group, helping accelerate the transition to electric fleets whilst creating a public charging network that is both accessible to all and commercially viable.
“Street Fleet gives fleet owners the confidence and evidence base to move to zero emissions vehicles.”
Following their successful pilot with the Street Fleet initiative, Adam Alderson, group strategic director at Briggs Equipment, says that one of the biggest challenges business face over the next five years is the transition from ICE vehicles to EVs.
“This is by no means a simple journey with challenges around infrastructure availability, vehicle range and required changes in working practices.
“Street Fleet helped us immensely in mapping out this journey identifying vehicles that could be transitioned in the short term and help influence the shape of the future charging network such that it reflects the needs of our fleet.”
Perran Moon, chief marketing officer at Liberty Charge, concluded: “Businesses are urgently looking to electrify their fleets ahead of the 2030 UK Government ban on the sale on new electric vehicles, and the smooth transition to electrification will only happen where there is convenient and reliable EV charging infrastructure in place.
“The experience within the Street Fleet Consortium and this new data-led electrification offering puts it in an excellent position to help deliver that smooth transition."
