Eric Wright Group has officially handed over its 100th electric fleet vehicle.
A Cupra Born was presented to the group’s new bid writer Prabjeet Kaur who joined the civil engineering arm of the business earlier last month (November).
Eric Wright Group’s current fleet is 76% ultra-low emission vehicles (ULEZ) while 50% are fully electric.
The company said it was aiming to have 60% of its leased car fleet as hybrid, plug-in hybrid or pure electric by 2025 but is set to meet the deadline in 2023.
Steve Openshaw, group fleet and transport manager at Eric Wright Group, said: “It’s a landmark moment for us to have 100 electric vehicles in the fleet and it’s lovely to present it to our newest member of staff, Prabjeet.
“This marks the moment we also exceed the halfway mark for the Group’s car fleet being fully electric. Over 250,000 electric miles have been driven between January and August 2022, which has significantly contributed to the Group’s overall carbon reduction targets.”
Openshaw, who recently was the subject of a fleet profile, was announced as Fleet Manager of the Year at the Fleet News Awards 2022, where the business also picked up the Fleet of the Year award.
Jeremy Hartley, group managing director said: “Steve has worked tirelessly to bring forward our conversion to an entirely electric fleet and this is another great milestone for the business.
“We are committed to minimising environmental impact from all Group activities and have implemented plans to ensure that the business delivers net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.”
