Stellantis has launched Free2move Charge to provide customers with a complete suite of electric vehicle (EV) charging hardware, software and services.
Managed by the new Stellantis Charging and Energy Business Unit, Free2move Charge aims to address EV customer needs at home, in their business and on-the-go.
Free2move Charge Business offers fleets a full suite of charging and energy services, including estimation of initial and future running costs, right-sizing of charging infrastructure, installation, maintenance, and public charging access while on the go.
Free2move Charge Home, meanwhile, will provide private customers support with installation, financing, and warranty of home charging and other energy hardware and services.
Options can range from AC charging cables and wall boxes today to Vehicle-2-Home, Vehicle-2-Grid, and complete energy management systems with features like touch-free wireless solutions and inductive robot charging under development for future releases.
Finally, Free2move Charge GO aims to ensure access to an extensive network of curated public charging points, and includes features like reservations, loyalty programs, subscriptions, prepaid packages, and single invoice/billing.
It will be rolled out in the USA first and then Stellantis's European markets during the second half of 2023.
Ricardo Stamatti, Stellantis senior vice president in the Charging and Energy Business Unit, said: “As the pace of mainstream EV adoption accelerates, our customers need us to be more than just a mobility provider.
“We are taking the lead in establishing a dedicated business unit that will support our bold electrification strategy and act as a natural extension of our iconic brands.
“Free2move Charge is the first product rolling out, exemplifying our purpose of delivering performance, value, sustainability and electrified mobility freedom for all.”
An 'e-ABC Promise', which stands for "easy to Always Be Charged," lies at the heart of Free2move Charge, which aims to make charging convenient, intelligent, and personalised - with optimised energy management to help reduce the total cost of EV ownership and maximise environmental benefits.
Stellantis says that Free2move Charge will play a pivotal role in achieving its Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, which includes reaching a 100% passenger car battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales mix in Europe and a 50% passenger car and light-duty truck BEV sales mix in the United States by 2030.
