The Freight Transport Association (FTA) will launch its annual review of the issues affecting the industry over the past 12 months at this year’s CV Show.
The Logistics Report 2016, detailing the challenges that the logistics sector has faced in the previous year and how it has responded to them, incorporates both in-house and independent research. It reflects on the many developments in logistics that will influence politicians and other stakeholders in the coming year.
Thanks to the direct participation of members who contributed to the development of responses and research, the Logistics Report 2016 contains analysis which is grounded in the reality of day-to-day logistics operations and will be launched on Tuesday, April 26.
FTA director of policy Karen Dee said: “2015 presented some real challenges for the logistics industry: a new Government determined to make its mark; growing uncertainty about the global economic slowdown not to mention on-going difficulties in recruiting the drivers and other skilled staff the industry needs.
“The Logistics Report – now in its seventh year – takes an in-depth look at how the industry has risen to these challenges as well as peering into the crystal ball to see what might lie ahead.”
In addition, FTA staff will be on hand to talk to visitors about all their freight and logistics needs. Experts from FTA’s Member Advice Centre will be available to provide advice on transport legislation and technical issues – anything from drivers’ hours to operation of longer semi-trailers.
FTA will also demonstrate some of the products and services it offers to help the industry stay safe, efficient and compliant including Visionfta – an all-in-one compliance tool that is home to FTA’s tachograph analysis software.
Users can see driver details, check driving licences and view vehicle inspection reports and audits in one place.
Live Drive Pro will also be on show for the first time – a risk management tool that provides an alternative to traditional telematics and driver training. The tool offers real-time verbal feedback to help the driver understand how to drive more safely and efficiently.
