Clean cold technology company Dearman has appointed former Carbon Trust director of innovation David Sanders as its commercial director.
At the Carbon Trust he worked with customers across the UK, Europe and Japan on strategy and innovation in the energy and resource efficiency space.
He said: “Dearman is a truly innovative company, and I am glad to be joining at such a pivotal time.
"The issues of air quality and emissions could not be more pressing at the moment, so delivering a real-world alternative to diesel in the form of a British innovation is an exciting prospect.
"With a revolutionary and commercially sound zero-emission system ready for deployment, I look forward to being a part of driving clean cold forward.”
Dearman is developing a suite of technologies that harness the properties of liquid air to deliver efficient, cost-effective and crucially zero-emission cold and power.
The first application of this technology, a zero-emission transport refrigeration system, underwent successful testing throughout 2015, and will begin a commercial
field demonstration in the coming months.
It offers a commercially viable solution to operators while helping to address growing concerns about the environmental impact of cooling.
Further applications of Dearman technology include a liquid-air-diesel hybrid engine for buses and HGVs, and a zero-emission back-up power and cooling system for the built environment.
