The company behind the yellow ‘How’s My Driving?’ stickers are offering grants of up to £2,500 to develop road safety projects.
Road safety teams, schools, individuals and not-for-profit groups are being encouraged to put forward their ideas and apply for funding.
The purpose of the grant initiative is to drive forward road safety culture by supporting ideas from people who wish to improve road safety in their community.
Subash Ludhra, former president of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, said: “It’s important that the group focuses its efforts on using the grants for educational purposes, enabling the money to have a positive impact on local communities as well as the wider road safety sector.”
The grant application and allocation process is overseen by a committee comprising of logistic industry experts, who are volunteering for a 12 month tenure of service, chaired by Ludhra.
The group has previously provided grant funding for national road safety projects including countrywide walking school buses, road safety youth films and a touring play delivering a message to young adults about the perils of drinking and driving.
The How’s My Driving road safety sticker scheme is for organisations that operate fleets of both heavy and light goods vehicles.
